✅ How to Set Up Your Freelancer Profile

Setting up a strong freelancer profile is the key to landing more jobs on Hiry. This step-by-step guide walks you through everything you need to complete — with tips, screenshots, and examples along the way.

Step 1: Go to Your Profile

  1. From your Dashboard, click on your name in the top-left corner.

  2. Select View Profile from the dropdown.

Step 2: Add an Introduction Video

Clients want to see the real you — your energy, personality, and confidence.

  • Film a short intro video (30 sec–2 min) introducing yourself, your experience, and what you specialize in.

  • Tools you can use: Loom, your iPhone, Photo Booth, or QuickTime Player.

Step 3: Upload a Professional Profile Photo

This is the first impression clients will get.

  • Use a clear, front-facing photo with good lighting.

  • Avoid filters or casual photos — keep it clean and professional.

Step 4: Write a Clear Headline & Subheadline

This appears right at the top of your profile — make it count.

  • Headline: Your role and specialty (e.g. “Email Marketer for DTC Brands”).

  • Subheadline: Include standout achievements, brands you've worked with, or results (e.g. “Scaled 3 brands past 7 figures | Klaviyo Certified”).

Tip: Keep it short and value-packed.

Step 5: Add Your Work Experience

Scroll down to the Work Experience section.

  • Include any relevant jobs or freelance gigs.

  • Prioritize well-known brands or standout roles (e.g. “Worked with Ruggable” or “Scaled True Classic to $50M”).

Step 6: Fill In Your Niche, Tools, and Skills

These tags help clients find you in search. Be specific.

  • Niche: e.g. Fashion, Health, SaaS

  • Tools: e.g. Klaviyo, Meta Ads, Figma

  • Skills: e.g. Copywriting, CRO, UGC creation

Tip: Only include tools you’re actually confident using.

Step 7: Add Your Portfolio or Case Studies

This is where you show off your work.

  • Click Create Case Study to start from scratch.

    • Add a title, text, images, videos — even embed external links.

    • Format it like a Notion doc for easy reading.

  • Or, use Import to upload an existing project (e.g. from Canva, a personal website, etc.).

Step 8: Add Your Experience Details (CV-Style)

If you didn’t complete this during sign-up, do it now:

  • Work Experience

  • Education

  • Certifications

This section acts as your resume for clients who want the full picture.

Step 9: Build Your Reputation

As you complete jobs and earn 5-star reviews, your Reputation score will grow automatically.

🏆 Reminder: The more complete your profile is, the higher you’ll rank in search and the more likely you’ll get hired.

Final Tip: Complete Everything for Better Rankings

A fully completed profile:

  • Ranks higher in search results

  • Builds trust with clients

  • Leads to more projects and more cash earned 💰
